Lady Jane Beach
‘I Sea You’ & ‘Locksmith Lizard’ EP
Here To Hell / HTH017
Following up from the release of their debut single, the infamous duo named after the infamous spot – Lady Jane Beach – are back with a 2 track EP of forward leaning yet sublime electronica.
In contrast to the raucous post-punk of debut ‘Outback, ‘I Sea You’ pays homage to the sea, with dreamy pads and the occasional spacey vocal stab interrupted by off-kilter beats and a plucky synthetic lead. It’s a Sydney coastal sunrise & sunset anthem for lost, landlocked Londoners.
‘Locksmith Lizard’ on the digital flip is a downward moving temporal modulation over seven minutes; it’s as if your tranquillisers didn’t work in the first half, so you doubled down before it goes sideways but not before a sneaky tempo change.
A highly surreal rap vocal comes out from nowhere, and is treated with such masterful vocal production you may well wonder if the voice is simply the purest of life’s force beaming rays from out of the dissolving clouds on the horizon of your minds eyeballs.
As always, it’s brilliantly out of this world, so lean into it. If it feels good, it is good. And these are awesome.
